Our vision is to support, empower, and educate the most vulnerable and at-risk individuals in Western Colorado to live healthy, happy and whole lives free from alcohol and drug addiction.

Almost everyone knows someone who has a drug or alcohol problem.  It is so commonplace today.  Drug abuse is a major public health problem that impacts society on multiple levels. Directly or indirectly, every community is affected by drug abuse and addiction, as is every family.

A Way Out was formed in 2013 to help people who cannot seem to break the addiction cycle and truly want to find a new way of life. We have helped hundreds of individuals and their families live healthy, whole and productive lives.

The organization is comprised of caring individuals committed to helping people find a full life in sobriety.

Drugs take a tremendous toll on our society at many levels. Substance abuse costs our nation more than $600 Billion per year.

Addiction is a chronic disease similar to other chronic diseases such as type II diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.

Human studies of addictive behaviors have clearly implicated both environmental and genetic influences, as well as interactions between the two. While genetics play a major role in defining who we are, the environment in which we are raised is just as influential.

“I am not sure how to begin and the word thank you seems to be a huge understatement when it comes to saving a life! A Way Out saved my sons life. It may seem a bit dramatic to say that, but, it is really? That is really what happened so it is what I will say!! I am a single mother with a sixteen year old son who is dealing with addiction. I had no where else to turn and had exhausted all of my resources when A Way Out stepped in and saved him!!! I spoke with the Director who was not only helpful, but, was kind and caring. She just put me at ease with the way she talked with me and helped me through the steps of the process to finding him help. My son is progressing and doing well. He now has a chance at a new life thanks to A Way Out!!”
